Hey everyone! Wow! Where has the time gone? Literally…Tristan is already 5 months old and I can’t believe it. We just celebrated his first Halloween and had our 2nd photo shoot with our fabulous photographer, Corinna Hoffman. We wanted to have it at our home so that we could get some great pictures of the nursery (finally). I have been teasing about the nursery for awhile but I am finally going to share some long awaited pics! My husband did most of the painting and my dad and Ryan (my hubby) installed the chair railing that goes along the middle of the wall. Tristan’s dresser I actually chalk painted myself using Annie Sloan’s chalk paint. I absolutely love doing chalk painting. It is so durable and so chic looking. And… easy! The dresser that I painted is actually the dresser that my brother used growing up. It happened to fit perfectly for what we were looking for in the nursery. It was a stained brown and then I chalk painted it grey.
We thought long and hard about the nursery theme and decided on moon and stars (astronomy). We wanted to incorporate a cute animal somehow so my husband decided it was going to be a space bear.
The pictures above the crib Ryan designed and he also incorporated a space bear, which leads me to Tristan’s Halloween costume. Of course, we had to have our very own little space bear. He was so cute!! He really rocked those bear ears and didn’t even complain at all!!
The moon and planet painting under each of the cloud book shelves were painted by two of our dearest friends. They hand painted the pictures just for Tristan! We ordered the stars that we used on the wall with Tristan’s name, off of Amazon. We also shopped Home Goods, Target, and Buy Buy Baby for a lot of the accessories and furniture. I linked all of the nursery furniture and accessories at the bottom of the post.
What nursery themes do you like or have you done in your home? Comment below I would love to hear! Until next time….xoxo
